We’re proud to introduce Sports Tech Advocates (STA) — the newest vertical within the Global Tech Advocates (GTA) and London Tech Advocates (LTA) networks, two of the world’s most dynamic grassroots tech communities. This launch event marks the beginning of a global network championing innovation in sports technology.

Agenda:
The event begins at 4:00 PM with a 4:30 PM kickoff, concludes by 5:30 PM, followed by networking until 6:00 PM.
This event is hosted by Tech Ireland Advocates as part of a wider initiative to launch the new Global Tech Advocates (GTA) SportsTech Group, proudly sponsored by Tech Ireland Advocates.
The event will feature three main sessions:
- Fireside Chat: A conversation between representatives of Tech Ireland Advocates (TIA) and Global Tech Advocates (GTA), discussing the vision for SportsTech within the global network.
- Panel Discussion: A dynamic session featuring 3–4 leading SportsTech advocates, who will introduce the new GTA SportsTech Group, share insights from their respective domains, and outline opportunities for collaboration and growth across the GTA community.
- Networking SessionAn opportunity to connect with fellow attendees including entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, athletes, and technologists. Share ideas, explore collaborations, and build valuable relationships within the growing global SportsTech ecosystem.
Speakers:
- Russ Shaw CBE – Founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, internationally recognized leader in tech ecosystem development.
- Dr. Kieran Collins – Director of the Research Centre at Technological University Dublin and Head of Discipline for Dietetics, Nutrition, and Sport Science.
- Will Connors – Professional rugby player with Leinster Rugby, capped for both the Irish National Rugby Union Team and the Ireland 7s Team. In addition to his rugby career, Will is currently pursuing a PhD at Trinity College Dublin, where he is using advanced computer science tools, including computer vision and machine learning, to optimise tackling techniques as part of the Making Rugby Safer initiative.
- Luke Middleton – Co-founder of Emerald Strategy Partners and Lead Representative of SportsTech Ireland. Luke is currently undertaking a PhD in Artificial Intelligence in Elite Sports at Technological University Dublin, focusing on applying AI to enhance athlete performance and decision-making in high-performance sport environments.
