Backed by Global Tech Advocates — the world's first truly international grassroots tech community — the Centre for Global Tech Advocacy exists to ensure that potential is unlocked — for everyone.
For more than a decade, Global Tech Advocates has demonstrated that when technology leaders come together around a shared purpose, they can create impact far beyond their own organisations.
Across 45 hubs representing fast-growing tech cities and regions worldwide, over 40,000 volunteers dedicate their time, expertise, networks, and influence to connecting ecosystems, sharing knowledge, championing innovation, and supporting entrepreneurs — because they believe in the power of technology to create change.

Global tech advocacy is how the tech community takes responsibility for the world it is helping to build — ensuring that technology doesn't just advance, but that it advances in ways that create genuine social, economic, and human progress.
That requires connecting insight with influence, and innovation with impact — bringing together industry, research, policy, and civic leadership around the conditions in which technology develops and its benefits are realised — beyond markets.
Emerging technology is reshaping lives at a pace and scale we have not seen before. The people most affected have the least say in how it develops. As the world's first truly international grassroots tech community, we are uniquely placed to advocate for the human potential it can unlock.
That is why we are creating the world's first institute dedicated to global tech advocacy.
The GTA network has delivered fourteen years of outcomes, one campaign or initiative at a time, carried by a community of volunteers. A single advocate volunteering can improve life chances for hundreds — even thousands — of people. The Centre's role is to amplify the public reach, access and benefit of that work.
As the network grows and its evidence deepens, the Centre's focus will extend to the wider systemic questions that the experience of the network reveals — including those the sector has yet to confront.
No other institution working on technology and society begins from a network of this scale and reach. As a result, the Centre needs no campus and no walls — it is lean, digital, and global from day one.
